Dear Friends,

I'm laying on the beach and listening to the contrasting sounds of children having a fun birthday party, while other people nearby brag about how much tequila they just drank. A refreshing moment and an opportune time to share an upcoming Northwest show with you...we're super excited to be opening up for Germany-based duo Stereo Total next week! It's going to a rad one, so if you're in Seattle, come out early and let's make it a party!

Tuesday 8/31 @ Chop Suey

Portland

What a weekend. Had an awesome Portland show at Doug Fir with Head Like a Kite, Truckasaurus and Smoosh, followed by 2 marathon days of demo recording in the big room. Good times all around! 3 all-nighters in a row makes you feel alive, albeit in a fantastically zombie sort of way. We also walked to the infamous Voodoo Doughnuts with Tilson from the Saturday Knights (on tour with HLAK) and picked up maple bars with bacon on them, as well as one really goddamn big doughnut. Oh, and we dodged vampires.

Demo mixing will start soon and I'm sure we'll post something for your ears in the near future. Ok, signing off because sleeeep needs to happen. See the shows page for some stuff coming up!

Noise For the Needy, and Roadtrip Nation!

Hi Friends,

We're honored to be playing as part of Noise for the Needy this year, a multi-day music festival here in Seattle. This year, it's a benefit for Teen Feed. Come support the great scene we have in Seattle and do good things for humanity at the same time…it's a win/win!

June 12 @ The Comet Tavern
$10 | 5PM | 21+
BUY TICKETS: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/110921

Also, another show…on PBS! I still have the words of Carl Sagan and the theme song from 3-2-1 Contact running through my skull. Childhood memories…almost 24/7. It's a great pleasure to have our song Suckerpunch featured in an episode of Roadtrip Nation this season. Not sure when it's airing yet, but keep your eyes out for episode 2! More info about the show here: http://roadtripnation.com

See you soon!

The Moore, and Onward

Hello!

Welcome to our new site! It's about time we wrote something new on here, yeah? We are 100% guilty of having brains too full of David Bowie songs and TKK orchestrations in preparation for last week's show at the Moore Theatre.

That said, thank you to those who came out to the show! We all had the time of our lives up there playing our songs with such a group of talented musicians. And backing the Seattle Rock Orchestra doing Bowie songs? AWESOME. Jon Auer, David Terry and the other guest singers were phenomenal...they all put their own spin on these great songs. The house was packed and the night was a real success - so, thank you thank you!!!

If you weren't able to make it, check out this review from KEXP with some video:
http://blog.kexp.org/blog/2010/03/31/the-seattle-rock-orchestra-rocks-the-night-in-tribute-to-david-bowie/

We were able to fit a few new songs into the set, and now we have time to flesh out other new ones. Finally...no more backburner. New album anybody?

Our next show is going to be at Chop Suey in May, along with People Eating People (whose singer Nouela Johnston also sang at the Moore Show) and Hosannas from PDX.

Two Thousand Ten

Happy 2010! We have a ton of new songs in process, and shows are being booked for the early part of the year. March is going to be mind-blowing (both for us and hopefully for you!).

It's time for a new full-length this year . . . in the meantime, our prior albums are available on iTunes and locally at Sonic Boom in Ballard.

A lot of sweet changes are happening in TKK land, so keep the eyes peeled. Thanks for a great 2009, people!
