Special Show this Friday, April 3rd!!
March 31st, 2009
Hello Everybody,
We have a very special show coming up at the High Dive this Friday, April 3rd:
It’s our last go around with the venerable Kevin Bray on the drums! So please bring yourself and your friends, as we’d like to make the last show with him a special one. Let’s send him off with a bang!
We’re working on finding somebody to fill the big shoes Kevin leaves behind. And we do have some things on our calendar, so we’ll be back playing live soon! We’ll keep you updated - also don’t forget to keep checking www.thekindnesskind.com or www.myspace.com/thekindnesskind for more info.
And again, thanks to all who came out to the Crocodile re-opening show, as well as Easy Street Records show! Minus the exodus caused by a sudden lack of alcohol in the Croc, all was great…thanks to the many troopers who stuck it out for the music!

Beginnings and Ends (and KEXP Song of the Day and Poll Results!)
January 7th, 2009
The end of 2008 has been a wonderful one. We released our 2nd record in November, played our CD release show with The Rosebuds, performed live on KEXP in December, and played an amazingly fun Holiday show - capped by having our picture taken with Santa.
Plus we were just voted #4 in the Three Imaginary Girls’ top NW Releases Readers’ Poll
-AND-
#8 in the TIG Editorial Picks!!
SO, WHAT’S HAPPENING IN 2009?!?!?!
*Friday, January 9th: “The Lusk Letter” is going to be featured as the KEXP Podcast Song of the Day! Please do some of the following:
A. Listen to KEXP during John in the Morning’s show (90.3FM or listen live online).
B. Download the song from the KEXP Blog.
C.Subscribe to the podcast in iTunes.
D.Subscribe via another service.
There.
*We’re playing our first show of 2009 at Neumos on January 15th! We’ll be opening up the night there, so be sure to come early and party with us.
*A tour is being booked for mid-March. Down the coast and in a bit. We want to see you there! More on that soon.
2008 highlights? Recording music in many unique spaces like the family farm was fun. Friends and animals hanging out. Kevin running around filming a zero-budget horror movie. You can’t beat that with a tire iron or a stick-horse.
And lastly, but definitely not least - The addition of Mr. Bryce Shoemaker on the bass guitar, in the nick of time to play the KEXP show to boot. We’re excited he’s around!
We’ve had a great finish to the year. Thanks to all for your support and your ears! Here’s to seeing you around in ‘09!
Bye,
Nicolas and The Kindness Kind

Our show at Pacific Lutheran University was a blast! We would like to thank everyone who came out and supported us, as well as everyone who worked to make the show a success. Despite both of the vehicles having headlights out and the keys to the Suburban being locked inside, everything went quite smoothly. The reception was great, the stage was large and we can be thankful that no one accidentally cut themselves on a broken coffee pot before the show.
Particularly exciting to me is our upcoming photo shoot. I have been wanting new photos for some time and anyone who looks inside “A Novel” and then comes to our shows will notice that I don’t have long hair anymore. These are going to be some very interesting thematic shots and they will definitely be more exciting that the simple headshots of our last album.
With the completion of the second studio album, our time has been freed to play as many shows as possible and we are working diligently to make sure that happens. The next show, on the 26th of September at the Sunset Tavern in Ballard, promises to be a very energetic evening, so make sure you come out!
-Brian
Hi folks,
September 11th, 2008
It’s taken a lot of time, money and energy but we’re finally done with or new album. It’s on the printing presses at this very moment. We’re super excited about it. It took a lot of work and luckily we had some amazing people helping us along with the process. Our producer/super cool dude, Lucas, did an amazing job with everything involved in the recording process and even worked when he was super sick. We owe him a lot.
The cover artwork was done by our friend Adam MacKinnon. His artwork is awesome. Check it out at brooklynartproject.ning.com/profile/MassRad. Charles also did some of the artwork which will be on the inside of the CD.
We’re playing at King Cobra in Seattle this Friday (9/12). We’ll be playing almost all of the songs from our new album. So come on out and get a sneak preview of our new CD. And if for some lame reason you can’t make it to King Cobra check out our calendar. We’re playing a bunch of shows in September and October.
Love,
Kevin & The Kindness Kind

Hi. We’ve been busy with recording and other goings on, so haven’t written anything in awhile. First, thank you for coming out to see us at Chop Suey! Head Like a Kite was lovely to play with again. No-Fi Soul Rebellion literally had the crowd on their knees, and Mon Marie played an
awesome CD release.
It was refreshing. Plus we were able to try out a few new things…which bring me to this:
The end is in sight for getting this next record done done done! We’re doing vocals in a few days, then mixing can begin in earnest. It’s a Fall release.
So, we had a close call. We were recording some room sounds in Olympia this last weekend…at the end of the recording the hard drive died…Luckily, Lucas is crazy about backing things up or we’d be in a shit place.
