Can’t wait!
Hey everybody,
I’m sure you’ve been asking yourself, what’s been going on with the Kindness Kind? Well, we took some time off after getting back from our short tour to California. We’ve spent our March sleeping, drinking beer, lifting weights, eating tacos, venturing out to Port Orchard for a little R&R and most importantly working on new songs and booking shows. We have some new songs to debut in the upcoming months. Our April and May is looking pretty exciting. We’re playing lots of shows all over the state of Washington. Come check us out and hear some of our new songs. Our next two shows are April 4th & 5th. April 4th we’ll be in lovely Port Townsend at The Boiler Room with our friends MegaSapien. April 5th we’re back in Seattle at Neumo’s opening up for Voyager One. They are a great band and it’s their CD release show. It’s going to fun. Hope to see you there!

The Sacramento show was a total fail - we showed up to a closed club and a booker with a disconnected …. so we drove there after San Diego for what amounted to some pretty good Thai food, but more importantly - no show. Ouch. So we hopped back in the suburban and drove to to the outskirts of San Francisco..spent the following day on the Wharf, in Chinatown and hit up downtown…relaxing. I bought a CD of ehru music and finally acquired a digital camera…and now - a flickr account! Woo. Now, we’re in Santa Cruz - we arrived last night feeling like the we had wool blankets pulled over our heads….just oddly tired. So we had dinner at a strange diner (served by a waiter with a really weird voice…like he had a bubble of salive permanently stuck in his throat), then came back and rested up. Today, we went to the boardwalk/beach and played mini-golf. I recorded the ocean, a crab scuttling across the ground, and me whipping a long rope of seaweed over my head…you never know when such things come in handy. Tonight we stopped by the venue (the Catalyst) and had a drink, checked the place out and met some locals (some drunk guy randomly told us he hadn’t had sex in 8 years and was asexual. Thanks for offering me up Charles…I owe you one). Tomorrow night is the show, immediately after which, we’ll hop in the suburban and drive straight back to Seattle for the Mars Bar show. A long day! -Nicolas
Our first tour has begun. We played the first show in San Diego last night. We drove straight from Seattle to San Diego. It took 23 hours. The trip down was pretty uneventful. We amused ourselves by telling the most sick, perverted, racist, sexual, and just plain offensive jokes we could think of as well asking each other plenty of “would you rather” questions. We did have a few minor setbacks. One of which was when our trailer came unhitched on the way to our show last night. Luckily it didn’t completely come all the way off, but we were dragging it down a busy highway with sparks flying and cars honking and there was nowhere to pull over. We had to stop in the middle of the road and try to hook it back up with cars zooming by us at 50 miles an hour. Luckily we didn’t get killed in a horrible accident and got back on road.
Our show last night at the Beauty Bar was really fun. All the people who came out to see us were awesome. We had such a good time. The place has a really cool vibe and is a great place to see a show or just hang out. I think we played one of our best shows ever and the response from the crowd was great. The people in San Diego are so friendly and so nice. We can’t wait to come back and play here again.
Ps. Tacos are delicious.
